Why maintain forest tracks?

Because potholes and tyre marks are the number one annoyance.

In the long term, the ongoing maintenance of forest and country roads using the SWO1 road maintenance machine is essential; if the roads are left untended for a long time, potholes and rutted tracks will become increasingly prevalent, preventing water from draining away.

THE WATER MUST BE DRAINED AWAY!

In the long run, it is better to carry out regular maintenance on forest roads using the SWO1 road maintenance machine in order to reduce costs. The key feature of our machine is that we can work on a width of up to 4 metres in a single pass, using five easy-to-operate arms that can be adjusted independently of one another to achieve optimum performance.

If this is not done, a heavy-duty grader must be used, which costs a great deal of money.

To restore the track to optimal condition, new organic material is needed to replenish the lost material.

We are so convinced by these results that, in practice, more and more SWO1 track maintenance machines are being used.

With regular maintenance using the SWO1 track maintenance machine, the verges and the centre of the track remain free of grass, humus and unwanted material.

The excess material and grass are removed and cleared away; the lost gravel is replenished and evenly distributed across the carriageway, thereby repairing potholes and rutted tracks.

Water can now drain away effectively, meaning that no organic material is carried away or washed away.
